Ventas is committed to supporting the communities in which we operate and the causes which are most important to our employees.
Corporate citizenship is a deeply-held, core value throughout our organization. Through the Ventas Charitable Foundation, established in 2006, we have contributed nearly $550,000 to social and human services, education, and conservation organizations, including the Louisville Regional Science Fair, 21st Century Parks, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, High Jump, and Supporting Heroes. Employee teams in each city are responsible for determining most of the Foundation's philanthropic contributions, and many of our colleagues have become deeply involved on their own in these nonprofit organizations.
We encourage our employees at all of our offices to give back to their communities – and we provide the tools to support them. For example, in each of the last several years, employees in our Chicago office have engaged in volunteer projects through our partnership with the nonprofit Chicago Cares.
A key area of interest for our employees is aligned with our business interest – helping improve the quality of living communities for senior residents. In recent years, our employees have been involved in a range of beautification programs around senior residences, from tree planting to painting. All of our employee volunteers underscore Ventas’s commitment to civic engagement.
