Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

DEBRA A. CAFARO is the Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Ventas, Inc., an S&P 500 company and real estate investment trust that owns approximately 1,300 healthcare, life science and senior living properties in North America and the United Kingdom and serves as the primary capital provider to leading healthcare companies.

A recognized industry leader, Cafaro set and oversaw execution of a long term strategy that has driven Ventas’s market capitalization to $24 billion from $200 million since her leadership began in 1999. The Company’s compound annual total shareholder return (TSR) has exceeded 25 percent since January 1, 2000.

Widely-acclaimed for her strategic vision, Cafaro has received multiple professional recognitions. In 2016, Cafaro was named one of the World’s 100 Most Powerful Women (Forbes Magazine); a Top 50 Best-Performing CEOs in the World for the third consecutive year (Harvard Business Review); one of the 100 Most Influential People in Healthcare for the third time (Modern Healthcare) and highlighted in The 70 Elite real estate executives who shaped the industry for the past 70 years (Real Estate Forum). She has been recognized as a Top 25 Women in Healthcare three times (Modern Healthcare); as part of the All America Executive Team (Institutional Investor); and a Top 50 Women in World Business (Financial Times). Cafaro was named as one of the Bankable 21 CEOs in the book Get Rich Carefully by CNBC Mad Money host Jim Cramer, as one of nine Game-Changers in commercial real estate since 2000 (GlobeSt.com) and as one of the Most Powerful Women in Business (Crains Chicago Business). She was also honored with the Industry Leadership Award by the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts (NAREIT).

In addition to her work at Ventas, Cafaro is broadly engaged across business, public policy, academic, sports and non-profit sectors. She is the Chair Elect of the Real Estate Roundtable and serves on its Executive Committee, and is a member of the Business Council. Cafaro serves on the executive committee of the Economics’ Club of Chicago and on the Boards of the PNC Financial Services Group Inc., the University of Chicago, Chicago Infrastructure Trust, Executives’ Club of Chicago, and World Business Chicago, and is on the Board of Trustees for the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. She is an owner and member of the Management Committee of the NHL Pittsburgh Penguins, consecutive Stanley Cup champions in 2016 and 2017.

Prior to joining Ventas, Cafaro was President and a Director of an NYSE-listed multi-family REIT, a practicing lawyer for 13 years and a judicial clerk for the Hon. J. Dickson Phillips, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.

Cafaro received her J.D. cum laude from the University of Chicago Law School, where she was named its 2011 Distinguished Alumna, and her B.A. magna cum laude from the University of Notre Dame. She is married and has two children.

John D. Cobb

Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer

JOHN D. COBB currently serves as Ventas’s Executive Vice President, Chief Investment Officer, after serving as Senior Vice President and Chief Investment Officer from 2010 to 2013. During Mr. Cobb’s tenure, he and his team of investment officers developed key customer relationships and facilitated Ventas’s growth through more than $22 billion in accretive mergers and acquisitions.

Prior to joining Ventas, Mr. Cobb served as President and Chief Executive Officer at Senior Lifestyle Corporation, where he led the strategic direction of a 9,000+ unit retirement company with over 3,400 employees. Before that, Mr. Cobb held various positions with GE Healthcare Financial Services, a division of General Electric Capital Corporation, with the last being Senior Managing Director.

Mr. Cobb has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the National Investment Center for Seniors Housing & Care (NIC). He is currently a member of the Executive Board of the American Seniors Housing Association (ASHA). Mr. Cobb holds a B.S. degree in Finance from Lehigh University.

Todd W. Lillibridge

Executive Vice President, Medical Property Operations; President and CEO, Lillibridge Healthcare Services

TODD W. LILLIBRIDGE joined Ventas as Executive Vice President, Medical Property Operations in 2010 with the closing of Ventas’s acquisition of Lillibridge Healthcare Services, Inc., now a wholly owned subsidiary of Ventas. Mr. Lillibridge is President and Chief Executive Officer of Lillibridge Healthcare Services, where he is responsible for the strategic focus, vision and overall leadership of the subsidiary.

Prior to joining its predecessor in 1982, and subsequently establishing Lillibridge & Company, Mr. Lillibridge was employed by Baird & Warner, Inc., of Chicago, Illinois, in the real estate finance group as well as in the development division.

Mr. Lillibridge is a member of the Board of Directors of Ardent Health Services, member of the Board of Directors of Rush University Medical Center and its Facilities Committee and a member of Pacific Medical Buildings Healthcare Real Estate Board. He received a B.S. degree with honors from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Robert F. Probst

Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

ROBERT F. PROBST joined Ventas in October of 2014 as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining Ventas, Mr. Probst served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Beam, Inc., where he was a key player in establishing the former unit of Fortune Brands as a standalone publicly traded spirits company in 2011.

Mr. Probst previously served as the Vice President of Finance, Strategy and M&A for Baxter International, Inc. Prior to that, he worked for eight years with London-based Diageo PLC, most recently as Chief Financial Officer, Global Supply. He also served in multiple finance roles within the Pillsbury Company and as a Commercial Lending Officer with Northern Trust Corporation.

Mr. Probst serves on the boards of the Chicago Botanic Garden and Camp Kesem, as well as the advisory board of the Duke University Financial Economics program. He earned his B.A. degree with honors in Economics from Duke University and received his M.B.A. degree with highest honors in Finance and Accounting from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

T. Richard Riney

Executive Vice President, Chief Administrative Officer, General Counsel and Ethics and Compliance Officer

T. RICHARD RINEY has been Ventas’s Executive Vice President and General Counsel since 1998. Mr. Riney was named Chief Administrative Officer in 2007 and also served as Ventas’s Corporate Secretary from 1998 to 2012. From 1996 to 1998, he served as Transactions Counsel for Ventas’s predecessor Vencor, Inc. Prior to that, Mr. Riney practiced law with the law firm of Hirn, Reed & Harper in Louisville, Kentucky, where his areas of concentration were real estate and corporate finance.

Mr. Riney serves on the Centre College President’s Advisory Council. He is admitted to the Bar in Kentucky and is a member of NAREIT. He received his undergraduate degree from Centre College and his J.D. degree from the University of Kentucky College of Law.

Edmund M. Brady, III

Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer

EDMUND M. BRADY, III joined Ventas in June of 2014 as Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer. Prior to joining Ventas, Mr. Brady served as President of the human capital-focused management consulting practice at EMB3 Advisory Services LLC. Mr. Brady previously served as Managing Director and Chief People Officer for Stroz Friedberg, LLC. Prior to that, Mr. Brady worked for Diamond Management & Technology Consultants, Inc., where he most recently served as Partner and Chief People Officer and a member of the firm’s Leadership Committee.

Mr. Brady received a BS in Business Administration from Georgetown University and an MBA in marketing and international business from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.

John K. Hart

Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer

JOHN K. HART joined Ventas in July of 2012 as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer. Prior to joining Ventas, Mr. Hart was the Managing Director of Technology at Chicago Mercantile Exchange Group, Inc., where he oversaw a team of 200 IT professionals in various functions including Enterprise Architecture, Business Systems, Security, Telecommunications, Networking, Help Desk and Operations. Mr. Hart previously served as the Assistant Vice President at First Options in Chicago, with responsibility for strategic planning and management of trading applications, and held various information technology positions with The John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, Fossett Securities Corporation, Businessland and Compco Computers. Mr. Hart received his Bachelor of Industrial Management from Milwaukee School of Engineering and an MBA from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management.

Brian K. Wood

Senior Vice President and Chief Tax Officer

BRIAN K. WOOD currently serves as Ventas’s Senior Vice President and Chief Tax Officer, after serving as Senior Vice President, Tax from 2007 to 2012, and as Vice President, Tax from 2000 to 2007. From 1991 to 2000, he served as Vice President, Tax for Kindred Healthcare, Inc. (NYSE: KND), where his areas of concentration were taxation, accounting and insurance. From 1985 to 1991, Mr. Wood was a tax manager with Ernst & Young LLP.

Mr. Wood is a member of NAREIT, where he is a member of the Government Relations Committee. He is also a member of the Tax Executives Institute, Inc. and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He received a B.A. degree in Accounting from Eastern Kentucky University.

Nicholas W. Jacoby

Senior Vice President of Asset Management

NICHOLAS W. JACOBY currently serves as Senior Vice President, Asset Management at Ventas. Mr. Jacoby focuses on Ventas’s triple-net property assets (NNN). Before serving as Senior Vice President, Asset Management, Mr. Jacoby was Vice President, Asset Management from 2012 to 2015, an Asset Manager from 2009 to 2012 and Financial Analyst from 2005 to 2009. Prior to joining Ventas, Mr. Jacoby worked as a Financial Analyst at JP Morgan Chase & Co.

Mr. Jacoby holds a B.S. degree in Business Administration with a focus in Accounting and an M.B.A. degree, both from the University of Louisville.

Christian N. Cummings

Senior Vice President of Asset Management

CHRISTIAN N. CUMMINGS currently serves as Senior Vice President, Asset Management at Ventas. Mr. Cummings focuses on Ventas’s seniors housing operating portfolio (SHOP). Before serving as Senior Vice President, Asset Management, Mr. Cummings was Vice President, Asset Management from 2007 to 2015, Manager of Financial Reporting from 2004 to 2007 and an Analyst from 2002 to 2004.

Mr. Cummings holds a B.A. degree in History and an M.B.A. degree, both from the University of Louisville.

Gregory R. Liebbe

Senior Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer and Controller

Gregory R. Liebbe currently serves as Senior Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer and Controller at Ventas, an S&P 500 company. Mr. Liebbe leads all aspects of Ventas’s accounting function including internal and external financial reporting, acquisitions, and dispositions.

Before serving as Chief Accounting Officer and Controller, Mr. Liebbe was Vice President, Accounting from July, 2011 to August, 2015; Director, Accounting from February, 2011 to July, 2011 and Manager, Accounting from February, 2007 to July, 2011.

Mr. Liebbe holds a Bachelor of Business Administration, Finance from the University of Iowa, a Master of Business Administration, Finance and Marketing from Loyola University and is a Certified Public Accountant. Mr. Liebbe is a member of AICPA, the Kentucky Society of CPAs and NAREIT.
