Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

DEBRA A. CAFARO has served as our Chief Executive Officer since 1999 and as our Chairman of the Board of Directors since 2003.

Under Ms. Cafaro’s leadership, Ventas’s market capitalization rose to nearly $25 billion, from $200 million. The Company’s compound annual total shareholder return (TSR) was 29 percent for the fifteen year period ended 12/31/14. Additionally, Ventas was named the top performing publicly traded financial company for the first decade of this century and Fortune Magazine ranked it as one of its “Most Admired” real estate company globally in 2013.

Ms. Cafaro was recognized in 2014 by the Harvard Business Review in its list of “The Best-Performing CEOs in the World,” ranking her in the top 30 global CEOs and by Crain’s Chicago Business as one of the “Most Powerful Women in Business”. She was named by CNBC Mad Money host Jim Cramer as one of the “Bankable 21” CEOs in his latest book, Get Rich Carefully. Cafaro was voted to Institutional Investor’s 2015, 2014, 2012 and 2011 “All American Executive Team” (top 3 REIT CEOs), selected as one of the “Top 50 Women in World Business” by the Financial Times and named one of the “100 Most Influential People in Healthcare” by Modern Healthcare.

Ms. Cafaro is a member of the Board of Directors of Weyerhaeuser Company (NYSE: WY), the University of Chicago, the Real Estate Roundtable, the Executives’ Club of Chicago, the Economic Club of Chicago and World Business Chicago, chaired by Mayor Rahm Emanuel. In 2010, Ms. Cafaro served as Chair of the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts (NAREIT), the worldwide representative voice for REITs, where she was honored in 2014 with NAREIT’s Industry Leadership Award.

Prior to joining Ventas, Ms. Cafaro was President and a Director of Ambassador Apartments, Inc. (NYSE: AAH), a multifamily REIT. She also practiced real estate, corporate and finance law for 13 years following her 1982-83 judicial clerkship with the Hon. J. Dickson Phillips, United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.

Ms. Cafaro received her J.D. cum laude in 1982 from the University of Chicago Law School, where she was named its Distinguished Alumna in 2011, and her B.A. magna cum laude from the University of Notre Dame in 1979.

John D. Cobb

Executive Vice President, Chief Investment Officer

JOHN D. COBB currently serves as our Executive Vice President, Chief Investment Officer, after serving as Senior Vice President, Chief Investment Officer from 2010 to March 2013. Prior to that, Mr. Cobb was a President and Chief Executive Officer of Senior Lifestyle Corporation, where he led the strategic direction of a 9,000+ unit retirement company with over 3,400 employees. Prior to that, he held various positions with GE Healthcare Financial Services, a division of General Electric Capital Corporation, which is a subsidiary of General Electric Corporation, with the last being Senior Managing Director, where he led a team focused on debt and equity investments of healthcare real estate totaling over $9 billion. Mr. Cobb has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the National Investment Center for the Seniors Housing & Care Industry (NIC). He is currently a member of the Executive Board of the American Seniors Housing Association. Mr. Cobb holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Lehigh University.

Todd W. Lillibridge

Executive Vice President, Medical Property Operations; President and CEO, Lillibridge Healthcare Services

TODD W. LILLIBRIDGE joined us as Executive Vice President, Medical Property Operations in 2010. Mr. Lillibridge also serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of our subsidiary, Lillibridge Healthcare Services, Inc., where he is responsible for the strategic focus, vision and overall leadership of our medical office building operations. Prior to joining its predecessor in 1982, and subsequently establishing Lillibridge & Company, Mr. Lillibridge was employed by Baird & Warner, Inc., of Chicago, Illinois, serving in the real estate finance group and development division. He is a member of the Economic Club of Chicago, the World Presidents’ Organization of Chicago and the Board of Directors of the Joffrey Ballet. Mr. Lillibridge received a B.S., with honors, in Marketing and Finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Robert F. Probst

Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

ROBERT F. PROBST joined Ventas in October of 2014 as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining Ventas, Mr. Probst served as senior vice president and chief financial officer for Beam Inc., where he was a key player in establishing the former unit of Fortune Brands as a standalone publicly traded spirits company in 2011. Mr. Probst previously served as the vice president of finance, strategy and M&A for Baxter International Inc. Prior to that he was with London-based Diageo PLC, a global premium drinks business, finance manager for the Pillsbury Company and a commercial lending officer with Northern Trust Corporation. Probst earned his B.A. with honors in Economics from Duke University and received his M.B.A. with highest honors in Finance and Accounting from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business. Probst serves on the boards of the Chicago Botanic Garden and Camp Kesem, as well as the advisory board of the Duke University Financial Economics program.

T. Richard Riney

Executive Vice President, Chief Administrative Officer and General Counsel

T. RICHARD RINEY has been our Executive Vice President and General Counsel since 1998, was named our Chief Administrative Officer in 2007 and also served as our Corporate Secretary from 1998 to 2012. From 1996 to 1998, he served as Transactions Counsel for our predecessor, Vencor, Inc. Prior to that, Mr. Riney practiced law with the law firm of Hirn, Reed & Harper, in Louisville, Kentucky, where his areas of concentration were real estate and corporate finance. Mr. Riney serves on the Centre College President's Advisory Council. He is admitted to the Bar in Kentucky and is a member of NAREIT. He received his undergraduate degree from Centre College and his J.D. from the University of Kentucky College of Law.

EDMUND M. BRADY, III joined Ventas in June of 2014 as Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer. Prior to joining Ventas, Mr. Brady served as president of the human capital-focused management consulting practice at EMB3 Advisory Services LLC. Mr. Brady previously served as managing director and chief people officer for Stroz Friedberg, LLC. Prior to that, Mr. Brady worked for Diamond Management & Technology Consultants, Inc., where he most recently served as partner and chief people officer and a member of the firm’s leadership committee. Mr. Brady received a BS in Business Administration from Georgetown University and an MBA in marketing and international business from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.

JOHN K. HART joined Ventas in July of 2012 as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer. Prior to joining Ventas, Mr. Hart was the Managing Director of Technology at Chicago Mercantile Exchange Group, Inc., where he oversaw a team of 200 IT professionals in various functions including Enterprise Architecture, Business Systems, Security, Telecommunications, Networking, Help Desk and Operations. Mr. Hart previously served as the Assistant Vice President at First Options in Chicago, with responsibility for strategic planning and management of trading applications, and held various information technology positions with The John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, Fossett Securities Corporation, Businessland and Compco Computers. Mr. Hart received his Bachelor of Industrial Management from Milwaukee School of Engineering and an MBA from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management.

JOSEPH D. LAMBERT serves as our Senior Vice President, Associate General Counsel, after serving as Vice President, Associate General Counsel in 2012, Vice President, Transactions Counsel from 2009- March, 2012 and Senior Transactions Counsel from 2006- March, 2009. From 2000 to 2006, he was an associate at Barack Ferrazzano Kirschbaum & Nagelberg LLP, focusing on real estate transactions for a wide variety of private and publicly-traded clients. Mr. Lambert received a B.A. in General Business Administration/Pre-Law from Michigan State University and a J.D. from Harvard Law School.

BRIAN K. WOOD currently serves as our Senior Vice President and Chief Tax Officer, after serving as Senior Vice President, Tax from 2007 to March 2012, and as Vice President, Tax from 2000 to 2007. From 1991 to 2000, he served as Vice President, Tax for Kindred Healthcare, Inc. (NYSE: KND), where his areas of concentration were taxation, accounting and insurance. From 1985 to 1991, Mr. Wood was a tax manager with Ernst & Young LLP. Mr. Wood is a member of NAREIT, the Tax Executives Institute, and the American Society of Certified Public Accountants. He received a B.A. in Accounting from Eastern Kentucky University.

Nick W. Jacoby

Nick W. Jacoby currently serves as Senior Vice President of Asset Management at Ventas. Mr. Jacoby focuses on Ventas’s seniors housing triple net property assets (NNN). Before serving as Senior Vice President of Asset Management, Mr. Jacoby was Vice President of Asset Management from 2012 to 2015, an Asset Manager from 2009 to 2012 and Financial Analyst from 2005 to 2009. Prior to joining Ventas, Mr. Jacoby worked as a Financial Analyst at JP Morgan Chase.

Christian N. Cummings

Senior Vice President of Asset Management

Christian N. Cummings currently serves as Senior Vice President of Asset Management at Ventas. Mr. Cummings focuses on Ventas’s seniors housing operating portfolio (SHOP) and dispositions. Mr. Cummings also oversees the business analysis group, which is responsible for portfolio reporting, modeling and financial planning and analysis. Before serving as Senior Vice President of Asset Management, Mr. Cummings was Vice President of Asset Management from 2007 to 2015, Manager of Financial Reporting from 2004 to 2007, and an Analyst from 2002 to 2004.

Mr. Cummings holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and a Master of Business Administration degree, both from the University of Louisville.
