Barak Berman is Senior Vice President, Triple-Net Portfolio and Debt Investments for Ventas. In this role, he oversees key operating relationships and asset management activities for a portfolio of approximately 200 triple-net leased properties comprising senior housing communities and other specialized healthcare real estate. He also oversees the Company’s loan investments.

Since joining Ventas in 2012, Berman has applied his unique expertise across the Company’s asset classes and activities. Previously, as Deputy General Counsel and Assistant Corporate Secretary at Ventas, Berman led the legal team responsible for executing all of the Company’s transactions. He also has served as a key advisor to Ventas’s senior leadership on complex M&A transactions and financial structures.

Before joining Ventas, Berman practiced at the law firms of McDermott Will & Emery and Winston & Strawn LLP, where he gained substantial experience in a wide range of real estate financing and M&A matters.

Berman is admitted to the Bar in Illinois. He holds a B.A. in Computer Science from Illinois Wesleyan University, cum laude, and a J.D. from the University of Illinois College of Law, Magna Cum Laude – Order of the Coif.
