Mr. Smith serves as Chairman, President and CEO of Health Care Service Corporation, the largest mutual and fifth largest managed care company in the United States by enrollment. With annual revenues of $88 billion and 34,000 employees, the company serves 27 million people through Blue Cross and Blue Shield plans in Illinois, Montana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas and through HealthSpringSM plans nationwide.
